Affectionately known as the "Godfather of Tower Defense," Paul Preece was the driving force behind the Facebook mega hit Battle Pirates and creator of the legendary Desktop Tower Defense. He currently works across studios overseeing game design and feature development for VEGA Conflict, War Commander: Rogue Assault, and a soon to be announced mobile title.

Prior to KIXEYE, Will co-founded Affinity Labs, a company focused on building a global network of online communities. Post acquisition by Monster Worldwide, he served as General Manager and led all operations for Affinity Labs and Monster's Education properties. Previously, he was part of the team responsible for restarting Netscape Communications Corp. where he led product management for the Netscape Browser and was responsible for various patents in security and usability. Before Netscape, he co-founded MD Drinks, Inc (d/b/a Function Drinks) a maker of all natural physician developed functional beverages and currently available in over 50,000 retail outlets. He also co-founded Media1st, an e-learning provider responsible for numerous innovations in online education and video streaming, and served as Vice President of Research and Development. He has also held positions at Yahoo, Internet Security Systems, Radiant Systems and was an EIR with Trinity Ventures. He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University.

Using novel game mechanics and deft creativity, David Scott has leveraged his passion for gaming to pioneer new genres during his storied career. He created Flash Element TD, the first browser-based Tower Defense game in 2007, and followed it with the first ever MMORTS, Backyard Monsters, in 2010. He currently serves as Creative Director on a soon to be announced mobile title.

John has 15 years experience building brands and marketing consumer products and is part of the founding team at KIXEYE.

Previously, he was Director of CRM for Monster Worldwide, where he developed and managed a multi-site communication plan to grow membership and increase revenue for Monster's education properties.

Prior to Monster, he led Member Marketing for Affinity Labs, a company focused on building a global network of world-class, online communities. Founded in 2006 and initially backed by the Mayfield Fund and Trinity Ventures, it was acquired in 2008 by Monster Worldwide.

Patmore brings over 15 years of production, creative and executive leadership experience in the video game industry to KIXEYE.

Most recently, Patmore oversaw the success of Zynga's key game franchises Mafia Wars and CityVille. Prior to Zynga, Patmore was Vice President of Product Development at the award-winning studio Double Fine Productions where he was responsible for the development of critically acclaimed titles such as Stacking, Iron Brigade, and Costume Quest.

Patmore was also President and CEO of Surreal Software, which he co-founded and later sold to Midway in 2004. At Surreal he was responsible for scaling the company's development and technical capabilities including overseeing the development of numerous commercial and critical hits including The Suffering and Drakan franchises.

Clayton has been delivering innovative technology solutions across numerous verticals for 25 years. Prior to joining KIXEYE, Clayton directed development for Zynga's platform studio. Zynga had acquired Flock - the Social Browser where Clayton spent several years as CTO and a leading contributor to that product's direction and design.

Clayton first worked with Will Harbin in 2004 when his team delivered the Netscape browser, which was a highly innovative consumer web product at the time. Clayton has also held technology leadership roles in energy management, biotechnology, oceanography and ship building.

Baruch brings over 17 years of financial experience to KIXEYE. Beginning his career in investment banking and private equity, Baruch was able to escape Wall Street in 2012 when he joined Japanese mobile gaming giant, GREE, Inc. At GREE he held multiple leadership roles including running the Finance organization for the company's U.S. operations. Most recently, Baruch was the CEO and co-founder of Fusion8, a company focused on bridging the Eastern and Western mobile gaming markets (successful exit in 2016). Baruch received a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Virginia and his Bachelors degree from Claremont McKenna College.

Trip Hawkins

An expert on innovation, entrepreneurship and technology management, Trip Hawkins played a key role in defining and building two major industries: personal computers and video games. He was an executive in three companies that had IPOs (including Apple's) and was the founder and CEO of Electronic Arts (EA Sports) which remains an industry leader today with a market capitalization of over $30 billion.

Hawkins, his products and companies have won hundreds of awards and he has personally won multiple Entrepreneur of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Hall of Fame awards. A holder of three patents, he invented, produced or directed several pioneering sports simulation games including John Madden Football and invented and produced several other brands including the "E for Everyone" game rating and the Army Men franchise of games that generated $300 million in revenue. A graduate of Harvard and Stanford, Hawkins is active in many charities and is a Professor of Technology Management at UCSB.

Christopher is the Managing Director of Nautilus Ventures, a fund focused on supporting entrepreneurs in building great companies. He is also the Founder of Affinity Labs, a digital media company managing a portfolio of leading online professional communities. In 2008, Affinity Labs was acquired by Monster Worldwide (NYSE: MWW).

Prior to founding Affinity Labs, he founded Military.com, the nation's largest military membership organization. Military.com connects its members to the lifelong benefits of military service and provides clients efficient access to the military market. In 2004, Military.com was also acquired by Monster.

Since joining Trinity Ventures in 1999, Patricia has focused on funding companies launching innovative online consumer and business services. She is particularly interested in the impact of social media and mobile on the next generation of Internet services.

Prior to Trinity Ventures, Patricia worked at McKinsey & Company helping enterprises in technology, financial services and retailing address their strategic and operational issues. Previously, she also contributed to Fortune magazine and other publications on management best practices in technology companies. Patricia is a member of the Stanford Business School Trust Investment Committee.

Joe Horowitz is the managing general partner of Icon Ventures, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm based in Palo Alto, California. He is veteran of the venture capital industry and in 2003 was instrumental in launching Icon with its current team. Joe's prior venture capital experience includes a 10-year tenure at U.S. Venture Partners (USVP) from 1982 to 1992 where the first deal that he worked on was the seed financing of Sun Microsystems. Joe also was Chairman and CEO of Geocast Network Systems, a broadband infrastructure company backed by Mayfield, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Institutional Venture Partners.

Jeremy Liew

Board Member

Jeremy Liew is a Partner of Lightspeed and focuses on consumer facing companies in the mobile and online space with a particular interest in video, massive-scale social media, commerce and financial services. Jeremy has more than 12 years of experience in business strategy, internationally as well as within the United States. He has funded several companies that have since been acquired or gone public, most notably Snapchat, and has a track record of investment that has landed him on the Forbes Midas List multiple times.

In addition to completing an MBA at Stanford, Jeremy spent the ‘90s and early 2000s working for web pioneers such as Netscape, AOL, CitySearch, and Interactive Corp. Outside of Lightspeed, Jeremy is a founding trustee at Presidio Knolls School, a startup, progressive Mandarin-immersion PreK-8 school in San Francisco.
